Steps to Certification in Multnomah County
- Download application – Download an application. Before filling out, save a copy to your computer and open with the most recent version of Adobe Reader. For mobile devices, download the Adobe Reader app.

- Email Application – You email the application to sustainabilityatwork@portlandoregon.gov.
- Verification Visit – You’re contacted in two days after they receive your application to schedule a verification visit. A visit typically takes an hour to complete.
- Certification Awarded – You’re sent certification materials, your business is included on their website, and in their marketing communications. Your certification lasts for three years. At the end of that period, your business will need to submit a new checklist and meet the latest program standards for renewal.
